A simple, hands-on way to help children understand how an analogue clock works.

Our Hands-On Learning Clock has been designed to make telling the time more visual and interactive. Children can physically move the hour and minute hands while learning how hours, minutes and the clock face work together.

Ideal for use at home, in schools, SEN settings and as part of home education.

Designed to grow with their learning

The clock has been designed so different features can be introduced gradually.

The large hour numbers provide a clear starting point when first learning to recognise the clock face.

As confidence develops, children can begin using the minute numbers around the outside, before progressing to the subtle individual minute markers.

This means the clock can continue to be useful as their understanding develops rather than being limited to one stage of learning.

Move the hands and make the time

The contrasting hour and minute hands can be moved by hand, allowing children to physically create different times.

It can be used to practise:

• O’clock
• Half past
• Quarter past and quarter to
• Five-minute intervals
• Individual minutes
• Identifying the hour and minute hands
• Reading a time shown on the clock
• Creating a time called out by an adult

It can also be used alongside everyday routines, such as showing what time school starts, lunchtime, bedtime or when it is time to leave the house.

Clear and visual

The clock features a lime green face with contrasting blue and orange details, helping the hour and minute information stand apart without making the face overly busy.

The individual minute markers are intentionally subtle, providing extra information when needed while keeping the clock clear for children who are just starting to learn.
